28 juin 2012

The federal government of Nigeria has announced that it has reached an agreement for the construction of a new road network, Daily Trust reports.

It has been confirmed that the Ada-Okere-Ukoni-Amedkhianroads in Edo State will cost as much as N2 billion.

According to the government, the construction work will be complete within 14 months and the new road network should help to boost economic growth in the west African state.

The contract, which has been awarded to Messr Arc Marine and Civil Contractors, was signed by the Nigerian minister of state for works, ambassador Bashir Yuguda.

Government officials have revealed that the new road network will cover 14 kilometers and should help reduce strain on other areas of the transport network.

This, of course, will help to ease the flow of consumer goods and the movement of people throughout the country, which is determined to expand its economy at an accelerated rate.
