Last Thursday witnessed the closing ceremony of the three-day Africa Energy Indaba 2012, in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The conference is fast becoming a regular continental forum for debating and exchanging solutions to Africa's energy challenges, focused on African power suppliers; alternative and renewable energies; oil and gas issues and; legal and regulatory framework, as well as investment opportunities.
An Indaba is a Zulu word for "purposeful listening", often referring to a conclave or meeting to discuss any important matter. You can bet your pension fund that many Nigerian officials were there, given all the usual attractions; estacode, shopping opportunities, night parties and the like.
