South Africa: Comair - Hot or Not? (video)

18 April 2012

ABNDigital - 18 April 2012

Comair was founded by the Novick and Moritz families, and operates the British Airways licence in South Africa. It also operates under the banner kulula.com, and has a market cap of R665 million. Their most recent results were a disappointment - a headline loss per share of 4.9 cents for the six months ended in December 2011, from earnings of 10.3 cents per share a year earlier. The carrier said high fuel prices, a weak economic environment and an increase in airport tariffs affected margins. To decide whether Comair is hot or not are Chris Gilmour from Absa Investments and our resident expert Paul Theron from Vestact.
