Gabon gives priority to infrastructures

15 January 2010

The French Development Agency (AFD) signed an agreement this week with the Gabon State and the Gabon Energy and Water Company (SEEG) aimed at financing the establishment of water infrastructures in the northern part of Libreville.

The Agency will be contributing the sum of 20 million Dollars, and Gabon 13 million. This financing is intended to support the work of improving the circulation of water between the treatment station and Libreville, in order to provide better access to the people of the region.

According to the press agency PANA, the Gabon government has likewise decided to give priority to infrastructures, and is aiming to invest 1.2 billion in this in 2010.

The budget allocated to infrastructure projects had already risen from 99 million to 152 million as early as 2008.<br/>
