ADB strengthens co-operation with Ivory Coast

The African Development Bank is intending to assist the Ivory Coast in mobilizing more resources, in particular to finance its infrastructures.

In a report entitled “The ADB and the Ivory Coast, a co-operation strengthened to escape crisis”, some extracts from which have been published by the daily Fraternité Matin, the President of the ADB, Mr. Donald Kaberuka, stressed the need for financing in the infrastructure sectors of road transport, electricity, and water treatment. As well as this, the Bank has also revealed its decision to increase its capital by 200 percent, according to a press release.

“The demand coming from the regional member countries has created a bond (....) It has become clear that the general increase in capital, which had not been intended before 2013, must take place as early as possible.”
