Revised One Stop Border Post Sourcebook available to download

The revised edition of the One Stop Border Post (OSBP) Sourcebook is available to download from the website of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

OSBPs help to significantly reduce the time it takes for goods and traders to cross borders, through the processing of border clearance under one roof.  The Sourcebook, an operational guide to the OSBP concept, covers issues such as legal & regulatory frameworks, simplification & harmonisation of border procedures, physical border post facilities and making best use of ICT.

The first edition of the OSBP Sourcebook, an initiative of the Infrastructure Consortium for Africa, was published in 2011. The work was funded & driven by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in close cooperation with the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD Agency). The project to update the Sourcebook was initiated by the ICA and the NEPAD Agency and, once again, the work was financed by JICA. 

More than 80 OSBP projects have begun since publication of the first Sourcebook and the 2nd edition will be an invaluable reference resource as a key initiative in the continuing drive to facilitate and expand trade in Africa.

The 2nd edition of the OSBP Sourcebook has been published in English and French, and is available to download from JICA in English and French.
