28 February 2014

February 28th, 2014| Tunis:  The Infrastructure Consortium for Africa (ICA), along with the African Development Institute (EADI) and Energy, Environment and Climate Change Department (ONEC) organized a training workshop on Power Sector Reform, Regulation and Performance in Africa.

On February 27th & 28th over 45 people from relevant departments in the African Natural Resource Center (ANRC), Strategy and Operational Policies (COSP), NEPAD, Regional Integration & Trade (ONRI), Private Sector Operations (OPSM), Governance and Financial Management (OSGE), ICA and ONEC.

The training workshop provided participants with a  comprehensive overview of experiences and issues related to power sector reform, regulation and performance in Africa (and other parts of the world).

The course was sponsored by ICA and delivered by Professor Anton Eberhard from the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business.  Professor Eberhard is a well-known power sector expert.

The participants felt the course content would help them in further engaging with the Bank’s regional member countries and provide required advisory services with regard to sector reform, regulation, performance of state-owned utilities as well as attracting independent power producers.
