The 9th Annual Meeting of the Infrastructure Consortium for Africa

Jointly organized by the AfDB and DFID – and hosted by the EAC

The Secretariat of the Infrastructure Consortium for Africa (ICA) is in the final planning stages of preparing for its 9th Annual Meeting. This year the meeting will be held at the beautiful new headquarters of the East Africa Community in Arusha, Tanzania – from November 12th – 14th. 

“…This year marks an anniversary for us…” says, ICA Coordinator, Mohamed Hassen. “… We are a G8 membership organization … of countries who have generously committed resources to building a sustainable infrastructure system in Africa … we started at a G8 Summit Meeting in the United Kingdom (Gleneagles Summit, 2005) … and now we are coming full circle back to British sponsorship of our annual meeting …”

The theme for this years’ ICA Annual Meeting is “Boosting African Trade:  Cross Border Harmonization of Transport Regulation and Policy.”  A Concept note on this subject was written by the ICA in the summer of 2013.  DFID generously elaborated on that concept note and has prepared a compelling report on Transport Regulation and Policy.  The full report will be unveiled at the annual meeting in Arusha.
