For Africa’s water needs to be met investment both in infrastructure and in operation and maintenance of water services has to be maintained and increased, while private sector engagement is essential - main conclusions of Financing Water for Growth in Africa meeting in Dakar, Senegal, on 26-27 November 2008.

One hundred and fifty decision-makers from around Africa, donor countries and international financial institutions will converge on Dakar, Senegal on 26 and 27 November 2008 to consider practical steps in attracting private sector investment in water infrastructure development in Africa.

The Infrastructure Consortium for Africa (ICA) will hold a meeting with a specific focus on enhancing private sector participation in the water sector in Africa.

The 4th Annual Meeting of the Infrastructure Consortium for Africa was held from 13 to 14 March 2008 in Tokyo, Japan. The meeting was hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Japan.
